DIGITAL READOUT ADJUSTMENT

Difference between digital readout and actual panel size.

Panel saws NikMann S-350 series are equipped with Digital readouts on cross cut stop and parallel fence.

If you have a diffrences between digital screen value and actual panel size, you have to recalibrate the digital readout. Every NikMann panel saw is equipped with digital readout screen and magnified glass. You can use both when cut you panels.

✅ Common Causes of DRO vs. Actual Size Discrepancy:

The difference between the digital readout (DRO) on a panel saw and the actual panel size when cut usually stems from mechanical misalignment, blade thickness (kerf), fence positioning, or calibration drift over time. This discrepancy can lead to panels being consistently over- or under-sized if not corrected.

  1. Blade Kerf Not Accounted For: The saw blade removes material (usually 3–4 mm). If the DRO measures from the wrong side or doesn't account for kerf, cuts will be off.
  2. Incorrect Fence Zero Point: If the digital readout was not zeroed when the fence is exactly at the blade edge (or tooth), the measurement will be off.
  3. Wear and Tear: Over time, bearings, slides, or the digital encoder may shift slightly.
  4. Improper Calibration: The DRO must be correctly calibrated to match actual travel distance.

✅ How to Adjust the Digital Readout (DRO):

Tools Needed: Measuring tape or digital caliper, panel to test cut, adjustment instructions for your DRO brand (often in manual).
